Kumarakom

Kumarakom is a popular tourism destination located near the city of Kottayam (16 kilometres (10 miles), in Kerala, India, famous for its backwater tourism. It is set in the backdrop of the Vembanad Lake, the largest lake in the state of Kerala. An enchanting backwater destination, Kumarakom offers visitors many other leisure options. Boating and fishing facilities are available at the Taj Garden Retreat, a sprawling old bungalow-turned-resort. Kumarakom is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is a noted bird sanctuary where many species of migratory birds visit.

Ilaveezha Poonchira

Ilaveezhapoonchira is a tourist destination located in Melukavu village in. Ilaveezha Poonchira is surrounded by three enchanting hillocks – Mankunnu, Kodayathoormala and Thonippara. This makes the place ideal for trekking. Elaveezha Poonchira is replete with rocky cliffs, contours and crevices and hence, lures a lot of trekkers, mountaineers and adventure enthusiasts to the spot to try their hand at trekking. Naadukani

Situated Nadukani is one such place nestled amid the wilderness of nature and densely wooded hills offering its visitors a beautiful trail for trekking. Nobody wishes to miss out on the panoramic view of mountain ranges on one side and that of the River Muvattupuzha on the other. Illikkal Kallu

Illikkal Kallu is a monolith located on top of the Illickal Malaa in the Kottayam district of Kerala, India. Situated at around 6000 feet above sea level, it is a major tourist attraction in Kottayam. One of the highest peaks in the vicinity, Illikkal Kallu comprises of three different hills- each rising to at least 4000 ft above the sea level. Boasting of mystical surroundings, hills imbued with a green blanket and an overall idyllic setting, the destination is blessed with bounteous natural bliss and is still unexploited and untapped by tourism. Above all, the sunset view as seen from the peak is absolutely riveting; the moon rises adjacently as the orange sun goes down.

Marmala Waterfalls

Marmala Waterfall lies a few kilometers away from Erattupetta, in Kottayam district, Kerala, India inside a private estate. It is exactly 8 km from Teekoy. Poonjar Palace

The Poonjar palace, about 600 years old, is built in the traditional architectural styles of ancient Chera and Pandya Kingdoms is a privileged historic destination. The ancient architectural styles of Kerala can be seen anywhere here. It is a huge majestic palace bounded by a boundary of massive walls is Poonjar Palace situated in Meenachil Taluka. The palace is adorned with a fascinating collection of various type of furniture and antiques which includes grand chandeliers, jewelry boxes, statues, grain measurer, weapons and palm leaf engravings. Tourists will also see a beautiful sculpture of Nataraja, a palanquin and a thoni for Ayurvedic massages crafted out of a single piece of wood.
